My new start in knitting

So, this is my third knitting project.  I've just learned how to knit and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

This first pic is where I was asking if the missing yo's could be fixed. I also figured out by looking at this pic, that I had somehow mixed up my pattern.

I tried to frog to the point of the mix up and...ended up having to frog the entire thing.

Oh well.

Now I'm at the point of where I had start frogging. It's much easier this go 'round and I understand better what I'm looking at.

I've also found I like lace work!

Lapghans...

I started a lapghan for a swap and finished it and while I was doing it, I fell in love with the yarn. It's I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby. I liked it so much that I started another one for my grandmother in a different color. These are the pics of both. The red one is the one for the swap and the blue is for my grandmother.

Have I mentioned how much I hate granny squares?

So, I've done one set of granny squares for my Halloween swap, that was only for 16 squares so that wasn't bad, but the earth and sky swap, well...that one is just sucking. I have 30 squares total to do, at this point, I only have 7 left but ... yeah, I'm not doing any more granny square swaps.

Been a while....

Well, I got another job and that REALLY took up my time! This Monday through Friday stuff is for the birds I'm telling ya!

I made a purse for a swap and thought I took a picture of it, but I didn't so I don't have one to post. I used the yarn that I like so much, the Waterlily from Red Heart. It didn't turn out quite as big as it was supposed to, but that was because the yarn that it called for was a weight 5 and I used a weight 4. Oh well. Learning as I go along.

I'm working on granny squares now. I have two swaps for them. One is an "Earth and Sky" swap that uses the yarn colors, earth and sky, turqua, coffee cafe and cafe latte. I've got 10 out of 30 squares done, most of which are different types of granny squares. The other swap is a Halloween swap and I haven't even started any of those. I'm sure there are 30 of those that I need to do too! The swap in which I did the purse is a monthly swap and July's swap is for the living room. Now I get to figure out what to make. Hmmm....I'm thinking maybe a remote caddy to put over the arm of the couch or something like that. Nothing too hard, but something quick so I can work on the other stuff too.

I'll try to get some pics loaded of the squares I have done so far..soon.

TTFN!

So...where was I?

Well, I haven't posted in a while. I got a job and that took up a lot of my time. LOL So, here I am. I finished my afghan as well. I'm sure I could have done it much wider than I did it, but, it's just for me so...I don't care. LOL

Now, I'm working on one for my son which is in Venture scouting colors of green and yellow (yes, think Green Bay Packers, LOL) and one for my sister from another family. I have a great photo of hers I can post. I'm having trouble with his because it's all SC and it's just soooo boring....and HUGE! Why did I make it so big? Because I love my son, that's why. ::snorts:: Yes, I'm a gluten for punishment. I missed his birthday, which is sad. I honestly didn't think it was going to take me so long on it, but I didn't count on SC to take so freakin long to do, so I've told him that it just may end up being a BirthMas present. ::chuckles::

Back to work for me!

Still working....

So...I'm still working on the shawl. I got bored and had to put it down. I guess frustrated is a better word since it had gone wavy on the sides. I've tired to fix it by "relaxing" by stitches. I was told that might be why I was having problems with the waviness on the sides. Not working out yet so I have no idea what is going on. I've been very careful about not dropping or picking up stitches, but I don't know. I'm up for any suggestions!
